The Launchpad is a MIDI pad controller designed originally to work seamlessly with Ableton Live (and other DAWs).

It features an 8×8 grid of 64 pads — each pad can be assigned to a clip, a drum hit, a sample, or a MIDI note.

The pads are illuminated (RGB backlit). This gives instant visual feedback: you can see at a glance which clips are loaded, playing, recording or stopped.
