Rapid charging: The charger can fully charge a 40V max XGT 2.5Ah battery (model BL4025) in approximately 28 minutes and a 4.0Ah battery (model BL4040) in 45 minutes.

Optimum charging system: Digital communication between the charger and the battery optimizes the charging process based on the battery's real-time condition and cell temperature. This protects the battery from overload, over-discharge, and overheating.

Dual-platform compatibility: With the optional ADP10 interchangeable adapter (sold separately), the DC40RA can also charge Makita's 14.4V and 18V LXT batteries, and does so faster than existing LXT fast chargers.

Status indicator: An enlarged and raised charging status light provides a clearer, more visible indication of the battery's charging progress.

Audible notifications: A selectable melody sound notifies the user when charging is complete.
